You’ve likely either chosen to ignore it completely as it’s just too hard to get your head around 🙈 or you’ve gone into panic mode about what this could mean for your paid Facebook advertising that you’ve put so much effort into 🙇‍♀️⁠

It’s a lot to take in and it really is a big change to how we have thought about paid Facebook advertising. And that’s why I’ve brought Rich Watson, our senior Facebook media buyer, in to have a chat about all that he has uncovered and where we go from here.⁠

Now normally I wouldn’t ask anyone to delve too deeply into the storm that was 2020 but I AM going to ask you to go back and look at your numbers. ⁠
⁠
In our Productpreneur Success Planner we ask you to do a review of the previous year so you can see where you are right now. And then once you have those numbers you can then start to get REALLY excited about which numbers you want to increase. ⁠
⁠
So what to look at? Well, we need you to dig into EVERYTHING! Get your Paypal account, your bank accounts, your Shopify or Wordpress or other ecommerce platform analytics and open up your Google Analytics account.⁠
⁠
And this is what I want you write down:⁠
⭐️ How much revenue did you make in 2020? If you had a budget in place make sure you compare budget/goal vs actual.⁠
⭐️ How much did you grow from the previous year, ie 2019?⁠
⭐️ How profitable were you? Yep scary - take your gross sales and deduct all your expenses. ⁠
⭐️ What is your current average order value? ⁠
⭐️ How much did each product bring in sales?⁠
⭐️ How many website visitors do you get each month?⁠
⭐️ What is your current website conversion rate?⁠
⭐️ What is your repeat customer rate?⁠
⭐️ Do you wholesale? Write down how many stockists you have.⁠
⭐️ How many email subscribers do you have right now?⁠
⁠
Ok, so that was probably a big job! Take a deep breath and enjoy the moment of knowing exactly how your business performed last year. ⁠

Now is the time of the year where you want to be putting in a system that will step you through not only WHAT you want to achieve in 2021 but also HOW you’re going to achieve it.⁠

But so many people get excited at the start of the year and plan up big things without figuring out how they’re going to achieve it, or even worse, they put it on the shelf to gather dust and they never look at it again! They end up getting to the end of the year thinking, "Oh, what was I supposed to do this year?" and finding that it's completely different to what actually happened. We don't want to set ourselves up for failure in that way.⁠

The answer is about REALLY figuring out the kind of business that you want to be growing and being very intentional about it. ⁠

And it’s so much more than just setting a revenue goal.⁠
